At October 18, 1984 Henk Janssen started WACON Holland in the Netherlands. The first activities concentrated on heat exchanger services for the offshore industry on oil rigs in the North Sea. The activities were extended with the water treatment products of WACON Wasseraufbereitung GmbH in Germany.

1985:
WACON Holland gained the exclusive distributorship of KIDDE Turbine Cooling Towers GmbH from Germany. The sales area was Benelux and UK. KIDDE Cooling Towers are known for their jet driven fans, powered by water pressure.

1986:
WACON Holland achieves a management buy-in in KIDDE GmbH.

1987:
WACON Holland takes a 100% share stake in KIDDE Turbine Cooling Towers and changes the name of the operations in WACON-AQUAVEN BV. The cooling tower products are now sold all over Europe.

1990:
Start of engineering and manufacturing of industrial designed cooling towers for the chemical and petrochemical industries.

1992:
Start the cooperation with Ryoden Cooling Towers in China.

1998:
Start of the environmental division in corporation with Delta Pressure Engineering LA, USA. The design, engineering and manufacturing of air scrubbers and trickling filters for the waste water and fish farming industry. Realized a number of municipal water treatment projects for potable water in the vicinity of LA.

2001:
A merger with Multicell Cooling Towers, which realized a management buy-in to expand in future markets.

2003:
Multicell merges with CTS BV and focuses itself on International Cooling Tower Services.

2004:
WACON-Europe BV in the Netherlands starts with local partners in the vicinity of the Dutch petrochemical region Rotterdam. With members of the old WACON AQUAVEN team we conquer a strong market segment and are renowned for service and reliability.

2005:
Formed a strategic partnership with Ryoden Cooling Towers, Macau. The cooperation is set up to aid a quality upgrade of their cooling tower products for the Chinese market.

2006:
Contract for annual OEM supplies of knock down cooling towers to a partner in Italy.

2007:
Contract for annual OEM supplies of knock down cooling towers to a partner in Germany.

2007:
Start of WACON International (Singapore) PTE Ltd. Acting as future holding, it markets industrial cooling tower systems as well as plate heat exchangers and pump systems in South East Asia.

2009:
-planning- Start WACON Middle East Dubai as sales office for the Middle East. It will supply cooling tower systems for various district cooling plants and for commercial or industrial purposes.

2009: 
-planning- Start WACON India in Mumbai as sales office for India and surrounding countries. It will supply cooling tower systems for various industrial and commercial projects.

In the coming 5-10 years WACON plans to expand activities all over the world. As the world energy market is rapidly expanding we take the opportunity to supply comprehensive engineered solutions for these industries. Cooling Towers will be the main-stream activities accompanied by heat exchangers, pump systems, controls etc. We also plan to start an environmental division in 2009-2010 and offer our knowledge of the waste water treatment and environmental markets in Asia. We plan to establish sales offices in South America and the USA.
